Activity is lower than in cel-1, making cel-2 potentially more useful for enriching membranes in supplemental fatty acids. Revertible. Fertility is reduced. Growth is normal on palmitate. Palmitate is used more efficiently in cel-2 than in wild type for the synthesis of unsaturated fatty acids.	IVR
