ws-1	VIR. Right of trp-2 (38%) (822). Delayed ascospore maturation; autonomous. Ascospores fail to darken or do so slowly. Black spots appear on some ws-1ascospores. In aged crosses, a few percent of the ws-1 ascospores darken and are capable of germination. Fertile and prototrophic, with normal tyrosinase activity vegetatively. Photograph of asci. (822). Second-division segregation frequencies may be as high as 80 to 96% (586, 822), providing evidence for chiasma interference.	VIR	B
