ser-3	IL. Right of cys-5 (<1%). Left of un-3 (<1%) and In(NM176) (8I6, 1093, PB). Uses serine and grows less well on formate. Also grows fairly well on a combination of adenine, methionine, tryptophan, and lysine. Does not grow on casein hydrolysate (290). No or little response to glycine (D.D. Perkins, unpublished data). Deficient in phosphoserine phosphatase activity (70). Inhibited by leucine. Scorability good, but vigor and leakiness vary markedly in different isolates.
