nkuA::argB	Arginine requirement. The nkuA gene was deleted in KJ12 by replacing it with argB. This was crossed to A770. TN02A7 is a segregant of this cross. Deletion of the nkuA (the A. nidulans homolog of human Ku70 gene) reduces the frequency of non-homologous integration of transforming DNA and greatly facilitates gene targeting. NkuA deleted strains show no obvious growth defect and are not sensitive to a variety of DNA damaging drugs.		A
