We have just received two additional Aspergillus niger wild-type strains. They are FGSC #'s A1143 (NRRL 3) and FGSC A1144 (NRRL328). Scott Baker of the US DOE PNNL Fungal Biotechnology laboratory sent them to us.

Also, the FGSC has received one Pichia pastoris strain strain from Stefan Bauer at the Carnegie Institution of Washington Department of Plant Biology, Stanford. This strain carries the A. nidulans gene for oligoxyloglucan reducing end-specific cellobiohydrolase. We refer to it as FGSC 9925.

We have had some spectacular weather recently. Fortunately, none of the tornados have visited UMKC.

Now that it is summer, I can ride my bike to work again. No matter what anyone tells you, Kansas City is very hilly.

We are working with Look and Feel New Media to migrate the FGSC web-site from the KUMC servers.
While they put a lot of 'features' on their sites, do not expect too much for the FGSC site. We will maintain our low-frills, information-dense policy.
