Third International Aspergillus Meeting. Saturday April 8, 2006. Vienna, Austria

The third international Aspergillus meeting will take place as a satellite meeting to the 8th

European Conference on Fungal Genetics (ECFG) being held in Vienna, Austria from April 8-11, 2006 (http://www.ecfg.info/). The aim of the meeting is to provide a forum for researchers interested in Aspergillus species to present latest experimental results and hear about developments in the field, particularly with respect to ongoing availability of genomic resources. The meeting also provides the opportunity for postdocs and students to interact with other Aspergillus researchers.

The third Aspergillus meeting will take place during the morning and afternoon of April 8, 2006 at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna (lecture halö XX, Muthgase 18, 1190 Vienna) and will finish in time to allow attendance at the opening ceremony of ECFG8 at 7 pm. It will include sessions devoted to methodologies, genomics and proteomics, with talks from invited speakers and offered talks selected from submitted abstracts. There will also be a dedicated poster session including refreshments. Finally, there will be the prestigious ‘Pontecorvo lecture’, given by an Aspergillus researcher of international renown.

The meeting is organized by the 2005 international Aspergillus Genomics Policy Research Committee (AGPRC), with particular local meeting organisers Paul S. Dyer (University of Nottingham, UK), Michelle Momany (University of Georgia, USA) and Joseph Strauss (University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna). Registration for the meeting will take place via the ECFG web page and will be done at the same time as registration for ECFG8 (http://www.ecfg.info/). The cost of registering for the third Aspergillus meeting will be 35 euros, which will include all meeting costs, materials and refreshments including breakfast and lunch. Registration and abstract deadline January 31^st, 2006.

Abstracts for offered talks and posters should be submitted as e-mail attachments to: Aspergillus@plantbio.uga.edu. Authors of abstracts chosen for oral presentation will be notified by February 24, 2006. Abstract preparation guidelines:

1. Abstracts must be written in English, ideally using Microsoft Word.

2. Abstracts must be no more than one page and no larger than 21 cm high and 14 cm wide, including figures and tables. Use Arial/Helvetica or Courier 12 pitch font, single-spaced. Do not use italic or bold. Text up to 250 words.

3. The abstract heading must include title (CAPITAL LETTERS), authors (presenting author underlined) and institution(s) including full address, phone, fax and email addresses.
